Test report: In the forest with Moritz

Siegfried Sperrer and Johannes Paar took the chance to test the Moritz for us in the forest.

Having Moritz as a companion in the forest may be able to replace horses, but it can't replace the specialist worker. This small, remotely controlled Pfanzelt device carrier can do so much more than horses. We will describe in our driving test report how this felling tractor is suitable for forestry activities.

Forestry is dangerous! Unfortunately, we have been repeatedly seeing fatal accidents in the past months. For this reason, situations in which cable winches are recommended or have become imperative for safety reasons are becoming increasingly more frequent during logging, most of all when working with timber from deciduous trees. In many cases, it is not possible to use a tractor featuring three-point cable winch. This was the reason for Bavarian forestry specialist Pfanzelt to develop a small, agile and light vehicle featuring a cable winch. The result is a remote controlled track vehicle with a deadweight of only 1.4 metric tons. Its name: Moritz.
